Hickok was
killed by a shot in the back while holding 'aces and 8's' in a
poker game at a saloon in Dead Wood, South Dakota. His
funeral was interrupted by two teamsters, who killed an Indian and
went from saloon to saloon with his severed head, collecting
money.
