The Spanish outpost of Los Angeles
Spanish founded
the pueblo of Los Angeles and began baptizing local Indians at the
Catholic mission. In a few short years the Spanish had
established missions and outposts from Baja, California, to
SanFrancisco Bay. In the coming years, their fur trading
expeditions would take them as far north as Alaska.
